The workbench
Services
The difference between a music store and a website: when something buzzes, sticks, or squeaks, you bring it to us and a person who plays fixes it.
Repairs & Setups
Pickup installs, neck adjustments, fretwork, restringing, intonation. Done in-house, on the same bench where we prep every instrument we sell.
School Band Rentals
Brass, wind, and percussion through NEMC: month-to-month, rent-to-own credit, and a damage protection plan. Apply at our in-store kiosk.
Consignment
Vintage and unusual pieces find their next player from our wall. Reserved for instruments with a story.
Musicians for Hire
From solo classical guitar to a full band, our network of teachers and players covers weddings, parties, and ceremonies.
Special Orders
Sheet music, strings, parts, or that one instrument we don’t stock: call with the details and we track it down, usually same week.
Lessons
Working teachers and performers in our Main Street studios — guitar, piano, voice, winds, strings and percussion, for students of all ages, beginners through advanced. Meet the teachers →
Vintage & pre-owned
Used & consigned
Vintage pieces, trade-ups and instruments left with us by their owners. Fair resale value is agreed with the consignee before anything goes on the wall, and you can call at any time to adjust the asking price. Used and consigned instruments sell once — it is worth a call before you drive over.
Live music for your event
Musicians for hire
Solo acts to large groups, every genre, public or private. We help you find the group or soloist that fits your audience and your room — there is a lot that goes into pairing an ensemble with a venue, and it pays to have an expert in the fold. We make that easy.
Professional musicians
Teachers, engineers and performers — fully educated professionals and talented artists of all kinds, for weddings, ceremonies, parties and corporate events.
Student musicians
Music-school graduates and rising players who have performed at the Newport Jazz Festival and state-sponsored events — professional-level talent looking to build long-term connections.
All events, all instruments
Classical guitar for a ceremony, a jazz trio for a reception, a full band for the party. Tell us the date, the room and the mood.
Nothing leaves until it plays right
Every instrument we sell or repair gets played on the bench before it goes out the door. Most setups turn around within the week; call for an estimate on anything unusual.
