Wakefield Music was established by Dennis Costa in 1991 at it’s original location at 56 Main Street in South Kingstown, Rhode Island in the space previously occupied by Axelrod Music. Despite it’s small space, the shop provided various services including lessons, repairs, band instrument rentals and assorted products including guitars, band/orchestral instruments, sheet music, books and even records. The store relocated next store at 58 Main St. a couple of years later and expanded it’s inventory to include digital pianos, drums, mandolins, banjos, ukuleles, drums, 4 extra teaching studios, more sheet music, cassette tapes and video. It was during this time that Wakefield Music began presenting a wide variety of concerts and workshops. which continues to this day, Over 100 concerts have been presented featuring local and international artists. The store further expanded in 1999 to include it’s former space (56 Main  St) merging with the existing space. Now in our 28th year, Wakefield Music continues to serve the local music community.
